Bundesliga - FC Bayern is Herbstmeister with 2-1 Win Over Stuttgart

After a guarded start by FC Bayern, Stuttgart took advantage after Gomez missed a sure goal and countered quickly.  Molinaro put a prefect pass to Harnik,  who extended he pass with his head to Gentner.  Gentner didn't hesitate and and sank the ball in the net with a dropkick just 7 minutes into the game.   The hosts lead 1-0

Gomez redeemed himself in the 13th minute after a pass from Rafinha from the right flank into the centre of the penalty area.  Gomez didn't miss this time and slides toward the ball and extends it into the net.  1-1

At the end of 45 minutes it remained 1-1.  After successful start and an early goal, Stuttgart had to deal with Bayern pushing hard to get the equalizer.  Gomez, who had been scoreless for over 600 minutes, finally broke the jinx and scored his 14th goal of the season.  Mulinaro was send off the field after a foul on Robben, which netted a yellow/red card.  Stuttgart's keeper Ulreich prevented that the hosts slipped further behind.

Bayern continued its pressure early in the second half, but it took 15 minutes before Gomez was able to score the go ahead goal. Kroos found himself with the ball just outside the penalty area, but had Stuttgart's Schmelzer in his way.  He passed to Lahm, who passed the ball back into the centre of the area, where Gomez picked it up and fired it into the net from about ten metres.  2-1 for Bayern.

The victory for Bayern was deserved.  As a result Bayern continues to lead the Bundesliga with a three point lead over Dortmund and Schalke 04.  The lead should be enough to win the league prior to the winter break, also unofficially know as "Herbstmeister" (Fall Champion).  Their goal difference puts them ten goals ahead of Dortmund.  Failing a total disaster during Matchday 17 Bayern should be the leader at the break.

Stuttgart put on the good fight and caused a few nervous moments for the record champion during the last ten minutes of the match.  Bayern definitely profited from Marinaro's send off.  All in all it was a good match.

There was some good news for Bayern as well.  Bastian Schweinsteiger may be back for the next game.
